I use a down-loader called [Sharing Max] that has a great interface , it's very easy to be used
I download from anysite that i want...it's really great when i download from youtube using it also , or anyother video sites

Just upgraded to version 1.5 and after the download is finished I get a tiny window that says "Converting) with an OK box and when I click the OK I get error (3221225477)
If I leave the "Converting" OK box alone, nothing happens (left if for 2 hours) |

For the most part the program works well however there is a problem. Some movie scenes start out in english and other scenes are in french or spanish. After copying the movie(s) I always check to make sure the scenes are in english. The first scene is in english but the following scenes are in french or spanish. what is the fix? thanks in advance |

Very well written standalone application and handy to use.
Can the URL input box be upgraded to multiple columns either using combox or listbox? so that more than one URL can be entered at one time. That will be great!

Think this is a problem with embedded unicode characters in the URL getting parsed correctly.I have a couple of generic download managers that have the same problem on "unprotected" sites. Maybe Google/YT are doing this intentionally to screw with anybody bypassing their ad stream/revenue? |

Howdy there, Jacek. Version 1.5 began to return "Invalid data" errors today. Another thing: I'm very happy that the file/page names are not auto-pasted any more because I prefer to give my own names -automation would be annoying here. Otherwise many thanks for a great program! |

Same here - the YT spoilsports wrecked the game for a few days, but Jack has put it all right again :-)
Hmmm.....Windows always creates a temp file of the streamed video clip as you watch it, but they doctor it so that you can't copy or access it. If there were a simple way of subverting that, I guess it wouldn't be vulnerable to YT's messing? Not that I'm criticising Jack's way of doing it - let's face it, it works! Just that I'm curious. |

Had the same "Invalid Data" sign on v1.3 suddenly when I tried to
download. Am new to this YT video stuff and thanks to Jack he came
out with another update, v1.4. Haven't tried it yet but this is great
softw and I loved v1.2 also. I just hope you keep up the good work

Downloader/converter was working fine a few days ago. Now it's not. Hope changes will be made to the app to get around whatever youtube is doing to mess things up. It's been a great help in recovering music from the 50's and 60's. |

Well, the "downloadyoutubevideos" (.in) site is back up and running again, so I guess they fixed the problem. It's not quite as easy as Jack's program, but it'll do the job while we're waiting for an upgrade.
I was beginning to think I'd never be able to download a YT video again.
What I like about Jack's program is that if you just copy the URL you want, the program automatically inserts it without needing to paste, and it guesses the filename from the clip name on the YT page. |

Yep....it stopped working for me too, 13/8/09. And all the YT-downloading Websites have been screwed as well. Looks like the Empire has struck back, and this time it's a real biggie. The page for "downloadyoutubevideos" won't even open any more, and I can't fine any YT downloading site that still works. DAMMIT! If it was only copyright-sensitive material that was blocked, I wouldn't be so angry, but they always block everything, which is really nasty.
Please rescue us with an upgrade, Jack! If you can get us out of this jam, we will sing your praises from the rooftops. |

Great little program. been using it for a long time now without any problems. But today it just stopped working for youtube videos. youtube updated there site and now the file wont download anymore. anyone else having this problem to? |

Works for me on Win XP. I was using the "Vixy" website before, but that kept giving stupid error messages, and then more recently its downloads had all lost their soundtracks. Then I switched to "downloadyoutubevideos" which works a lot better, but it's good to have a simple app that does the job straight from your computer. I miss Vixy's auto conversion to .avi feature, but there's another free Pazera program that does that part, so it's not really a problem.

sorry that wasn't what i was gonna say, lol..
was gonna say its not downloading from google video, it only tries to download the flash file that is acting as the FLV player for google video, so its actually not reading the frames etc as it should.. |
